A Selection of reviews and stuff
December 9th 2006 23:27
Well, it's strange to think that I've been doing this blog for the best part of nine months now. I swear it only felt like six months! Where did those other three months go? Anyway, thought I'd keep the pot boiling by posting up some direct links to older reviews and stuff, cause I know they can tend to get away from the reader, buried deep deep down in the archives and all that. It also lets me off from writing something today. Ha!
The Gun Seller - Hugh Laurie's first book.
The God of Small Things - Booker-prize winning novel by Arundhati Roy.
The Dirt - the infamous autobiography of Motley Crue.
The Spook's Apprentice - the first in trilogy of great new kid's fantasy books.
The Wonderful Kurt Vonnegut - my first blog ever!
Playing Beatie Bow - the classic Australian children's novel.
Odd Man Out - the autobiography of Ronnie Biggs (the Great Train Robber!)
The Ipcress File - rad spy novel from the 60s.
Northern Lights - soon to be a smash hit film! (at least, I hope it will be good enough to be a smash hit)
Brushing The Tip of Fame - the autobiography of Nicholas Hope (best known for playing Bad Boy Bubby).
Books and School - musings on selected school texts (and my hatred of boring old books like 'Tess of the d'Urbervilles')
George Orwell in Burma - review of 'Secret Histories', a travel literature book about Burma that focuses on George Orwell's connection to the country.
Brave New World - the classic sci-fi tale by Aldous Huxley.
Eucalyptus - the Miles Franklin Award-winning book that almost became the next big Aussie film.
Alec Guinness - review of the controversial new biography.
