The Alphabet of Manliness
October 19th 2006 11:08
Maddox (real name George Ouzounian) is perhaps best known for his phenomenal website 'The Best Page in the Universe' - a satirical, side-splitting and completely politically incorrect series of articles, cartoons and rants aimed at pissing on the moronic, overtly left-wing, easy offended, conservative and pretty much anyone else you can think of (The Best Page in the Universe). To put it simply, he's my kind of guy.
For the last two years or so his website has been updated more and more infrequently and I was beginning to despair that it was all over, but then came the revelation that Maddox was writing a book. Yes, a whole book! This book is 'The Alphabet of Manliness'.
Unlike his website, the book focuses on the more timeless aspects of male culture (like boners, beef jerky and chuck norris), probably to ensure that it remains more relevant than some of the pieces on his webpage have become in subsequent years. Faced with the task of transferring his oft-imitated brand of high-octane, over-confident and offensive humour into book form, Maddox has managed to define his range of views and advice as falling under one umbrella term - 'manliness'. Using this as a framework, he has divided the book up into 26 sections - discussing a different topic for each letter.
Here they are...
A is for Ass-Kicking
B is for Boners
C is for Copping a Feel
D is for Taking a Dump
E is for Enlightenment
F is for Female Wrestling
H is for Hot Sauce
I is for Irate
J is for Beef Jerky
K is for Knockers
L is for Lumberjacks
M is for Metal
N is for Chuck Norris
O is for Obediance
P is for Pirates
Q is for Quickie
R is for Road Rage
S is for Sneaking a Peak
T is for Taunting
U is for Urinal Etiquette
V is for Violence
W is for Winner
X is for XXX
Y is for Yelling
Z is for Zombies
As you can see, a wide range of informative and useful topics. Whether he's discussing how awesome Lumberjacks are, or the cons and pros of the different breeds of women (brunettes, blondes and redheads) and which ones are more easily trained, or the benefits of road rage (which he prefers to call 'road justice), Maddox manages to amuse and entertaing with nearly every sentence. There are also countless hilarious diagrams and pictures to help you visualise his various guides and scenarios.
A great book.
Not for women, children, old people, or anyone else easily annoyed.
