Harry Potter trailer - click to watch
I don't normally talk about films on this blog, I have other places to do that (Cult Fiction and Old Movies). But as this was Harry Potter-related I thought I'd put this up here.
'Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix' is the 5th Harry Potter novel and the film is to be released sometime in the near future. The link above will take you to a new trailer for the film, and I tells ya - it looks good.
'Order of the Phoenix' is the longest Harry Potter book released so far, so it will be interesting to see how successfully the film can be realised and how much they will leave out. The previous film, 'Goblet of Fire', only just managed to reach some sort of cohesive mass - but not without sacrificing several characters and subplots.
This installment sees Gary Oldman return as Sirius Black (his appearance in the last film was strictly CGI and restricted to a single scene), David Thewlis return as Lupin (last seen in the 'Prisoner of Azkaban') and Richard Griffiths reprise his role as Uncle Vernon (he too was cut from the previous film), alongside the growing regular cast (Michael Gambon, Ralph Fiennes, Brendan Gleeson, etc).
Academy Award-nominee Imelda Staunton steps into the shoes of the extremely unlikeable Dolores Umbridge, and though she doesn't exactly match the character's physical description (she is described as fat and froglike), I think she will capture the character's personality wonderfully. Also joining the cast this time round is Helena Bonham-Carter - perfectly cast as the death-eater Bellatrix Lestrange.
Anyway, the trailer is cool so check it out!
