Harry Potter 7's title revealed! (with Pics)
January 4th 2007 10:22
Well, I wrote out this big long blog about Harry Potter 7 and how I missed the announcement of it's title a couple of weeks ago but I had to be a real daft bugger and go and delete the whole thing before I even had a chance to publish it. I'm so stupid sometimes. Grrrr!
Anyway, the long-awaited title to the last ever Harry Potter book is...
Sounds ominous doesn't it? Anyway, I'm not going to talk about what I think will happen... everyone does that, and everyone always gets it wrong. Only J. K. Rowling knows what will happen. There's been talk that Harry might die, and I wouldn't put it past Rowling. She hasn't denied it either but no doubt she's loving every minute of the suspense she's inflicting on the millions of Harry Potter fans out there. I would.
A release date hasn't been announced yet, but having worked in bookstores for a few years now I can pretty much safely say that no other book release attracts as much fanfare as Harry Potter. I was lucky enough to be rostered on for the release of 'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince' in 2004 (it's pretty much an all-hands-on-deck kinda day) and it was a lot of terrific fun. We decided to all dress up as Harry Potter characters for the day (well, we dressed in the style of Harry Potter characters - apparently it's some kind of copyright infringement to dress as any particular character for a company and Harry Potter's publishers are fairly strict about enforcing this), so I decided to dress as every crusading boy wizard's best mate (let's just say his name rhymes with 'John Heasley'). So I bleached my hair, dyed it red, and had a shave. Here's some pics...
You can't say I'm not a dedicated Harry Potter fan! Some of my employers grumbled a little, but they couldn't really complain too much as it was all in the line of duty. Ha ha! Can't wait for the 'Deathly Hallows'!
