More new releases

Some current new releases that have caught my eye.
The Harsh Cry of the Heron - Lian Hearn's follow up to the 'Tales of the Otori' trilogy. This book is set around 16 years after the original three novels and promises to tie up some of the questions left unanswered in those books. There is a lot of room for Hearn to explore lots of different aspects of the realm she created in her previous books too... should be good!
A Spot of Bother - Mark Haddon's eagerly awaited follow-up to his award-winning book 'The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time' promises to be every bit as entertaining, moving and memorable. It's a lot thicker than 'Curious Incident', but it's only his second adult-aimed book - maybe he's still finding his feet (hard to believe, I know - but if this book is even half as good as 'Curious Incident' then it will still kick an unbelievable amount of arse).
Underground - Andrew McGahan is another award-winning author, previously most-recently of the Miles Franklin Award-winning 'The White Earth'. I've never read one of his books but this one sounds really interesting... it paints a picture of a not-too-distant future in Australia where we've pretty much become a puppet state of the U.S.A. Timely, controversial and sure to be intriguing!
