New Releases

I got some pamphletage on New Release books from PanMacmillan yesterday. Some decent look books on there way... some bestsellers coming up for sure. Here's are three of the more interesting books you'll be seeing in stores soon.
"Circle of Flight: The Ellie Chronicles"... this is the last installment of John Marden's follow-up trilogy to his famous 'Tomorrow When the War Began' series. All up that brings this series of books to about 10. A nice even number. I have a lot of reading to do before I'm up to this book. It comes out in November.
This is the debut novel from Sydney Bauer, an Australian journalist and director of programming for one of our television channels. He cites his influences as CSI, Law and Order and The Practice (note: TV shows, not books!) Undertow promises to be the sort of edge-of-your-seat, twisty and turny mystery/crime novel that have become the book industry's bread and butter of late. Comes out this month (September).
'The Tower' is the latest historical thriller from Valerio Massimo Manfredi. Manfredi is professor of classical archeology at Luigi Bocconi University in Milan and he is also the author of the Alexander trilogy, a bestselling trio of books about Alexander the Great. He has also written numerous other fiction books based on Ancient History, utilising the latest theories regarding these long-gone civilisations and combining them with must-read page-turnery. He's probably the most respected of the current crop of historical novelists... he's also the real deal! This book comes out in October.
